ENTRANCE TO HOUSE OF C. L. TIFFANY, ESQ. NEW YORK, N. Y.
A base composed of unfinished blocks of North River bluestonemeasured 110 by 125 feet. The house was accessed through a Romanesque arch which had a wrought iron portcullis that could be lowered at night for security. This archway led to an entrance courtyard large enough to hold a carriage. Click HERE to view an early post on this now demolished property.
