Edwin D. Morgan house, "Wheatley" McKim, Mead & White, Architects |
Click HERE to view all past posts on "Wheatley", the Edwin D. Morgan estate designed by the architectural firm McKim, Mead & White circa 1895. Later additions would add to the existing water tower - flanking wings one holding a playroom/squash court and private chapel, the other an indoor swimming pool and servants' quarters. Over time a courtyard was created by enclosing all four sides with additional structures. Its hard to say if the single lonely tree made the final landscaping scheme.
